Author Interview - George Hudson - Urban Fiction

Thank you for joining us today! We're on location in the offices of G Street Chronicles with author George Sherman Hudson.

George was born and raised in Atlanta Ga. After being continuously rejected by different publishers because of the subject matter contained in the books he wrote while serving time, this father of two did some research and started G Street Chronicles, the urban book publishing company that's run by him with the help of his COO and fiancé Erica Jones.

While George is continuously working hard to make G Street Chronicles a recognized name in the literary industry, he's also working hard on his highly anticipated 'REAL' series. George has authored five books and his debut book, Drama, is in stores now. Having published more than ten titles in the first year of business, George is determined to make G Street Chronicles an urban lit powerhouse.

Deanna: George, I visited your website and was impressed with the layout. Congratulations on the site and especially for starting your own company. Tell us a bit about yourself that our readers might not know?

George:  My name is George Sherman Hudson and I started my writing career and my company, G Street Chronicles, while in prison.

Deanna: What made you want to become a writer?

George:  I had a lot of interesting stories that I really wanted to share with the world.

Deanna: Do you write under a pen name?

George:  No, I write under my birth name.

Deanna: As authors, we love all of our characters. Is there a certain type of character that is easier to write than another?

George:  I can write about the "ladies man"  easier because it's so close to my own character.

Deanna:  Do you read in the same genre that you write in?

George:  Yes

Deanna: Tell us about a typical day in your life as a writer.

George:  My typical day consist of a early morning workout, heading to the office to see what's on the agenda. Contact distributors and bookstores. After handling the days work at the office I head home and spend quality time with the family.

Deanna:  Most of us have pretty vivid imaginations when it comes to story lines. Where do your story ideas come from?

George:  My ideas come from my life experiences and the experiences of people around me.

Deanna: Please tell us a bit about Drama and share an excerpt of your book with us.

George:  The drama just doesn't stop in the lives of Deb, Tammy, and Lisa. Deb, the hard worker and savvy entrepreneur is blessed with a multimillion dollar contract, but has to enjoy the success without the comfort of her man whose fledging music career has him busy from state to state. Tammy has everything a diva could want, a multimillion dollar home, expensive cars, clothes, jewelry, and she thought, love.

Drama is a book a lot like Sex in the City but with black characters; each chapter is told from the point of view of a different character. They take turns telling their side of the story. It has everything - humor, emotions, great characters, and a lot of drama.

Drama excerpt:

"I want him dead! I don't care where he is!"  Angelo screamed into the phone to his lieutenant.
"I have a couple of people on the inside that  I'll contact. I'm pretty sure they can handle it,"  Michael told Angelo as he pushed the old model Mercedes Benz through downtown Miami.

"Good, just let them know we're paying a half million to have him eliminated,"  Angelo said firmly thinking back on the day Real killed his uncle.

"I will contact them now. I will call you back this evening," Michael replied ending the call.

Hanging up with Michael, Angelo clicked over and dialed Milo's number.
"Hello?" Milo answered.

"Milo, I need you to bring over the two hundred fifty thousand for the bounty on Real I have my people making contact to get him taken care of right now. They have located him in a down south Georgia prison," \Angelo said with disdain in his voice not liking the man on the line.

Milo and Angelo were nephews of two of the richest and deadliest men in the cartel. After Real waged war and killed both of their uncles, they came together to get revenge for the murders. Even though they were working together to get revenge, Angelo still hated Milo with a passion for his renegade ways and arrogance. Both men were sworn in to lead their family after their uncles were murdered.

Deanna: Is there anything else you would like to share with us today?

George:  Never give up!

Deanna: George, where can our readers find your books and your websites?
