Author Interview - Michele Hart

Winner is: Moonsanity!!!

Congratulations!!

Welcome to our version of space travel with Michele Hart, sci-fi romance author. She'll be our captain today! Thank you for dressing appropriately for our space adventure and for checking your lasers at the door. As you'll notice over there, the transfer platform remains off limits. We don't want to lose anyone! Refreshments are on your right, please help yourself to the Stellar Margaritas and the Kamikazes! As soon as everyone arrives and is seated, we'll get started.

Deanna:  Michele, thanks for joining us. Here's your favorite drink, a blended strawberry margarita!

Michele: Thank you, Deanna, for having me on your blog today. This is a wonderful drink!  mmmmm

Deanna: Tell us about your new release, Luminous Nights. I hear it’s action-packed.

Michele:  It sure is. When my heroine Rachel ventures just once into smuggling, a man wearing a holographic mask and flashing a badge boards her ship during a prison riot. Jack has a burn on his arm that screams inmate, inmate, inmate! Because she’s seen that bright, angelic face once before on another man, she knows he’s an impostor. She has no idea Jack’s about to take her on an interstellar killing spree.
Lots of action! Prison breaks, alien chocolate seduction, super weapons, doomsday devices, abduction, explosions, narrow escapes, murder-defying deceit, and threats of genocide, all while riding a harrowing roller coaster with a dangerous man wearing a holographic mask. If that sounds good to you, check out Luminous Nights..

Deanna: That sounds exciting. So, on the fighter vs. lover question, Jack’s a fighter?

Michele: Oh, he’s a lover, too. Problem is, Rachel’s an iceberg who doesn’t appreciate the abduction or the gruesome, deadly work his laser has done before her eyes. Turns out, that’s not foreplay to her. When she stands steadfast against all his heavy-weight charm, Jack calls upon his A-game seduction. And it’ll have to be a pretty good game to get his way with an angry, obstinate, and frightened Rachel. Devoted to the mission of melting her, Jack’s got plans, the face of an angel, and a prison-built body from Hell. With hypnotic sky eyes, he can command her thoughts to stop. And that’s just the beginning of his game, just the first trick hidden up his sleeves. Jack knows how to turn up the heat.

Deanna: Jack sounds hot.

Michele: He’s on fire, and he burns down Rachel’s clean and safe world. Then he makes all the doomsday weapons and narrow escapes very worth it in the end.

Deanna:  Tell us a bit about yourself that our readers might not know.

Michele: I’m a hermit. I don’t do much more than write, do promo, and study. I’m big on science, so I’ll study a science and write a Romance about the people working with that science, or people who are victims of it. Hmm, something readers don’t know… Nothing can put me in a bikini… Littering makes me insane… I was a Boy Scout in high school. The Science Explorers were owned by the Boy Scouts, so I can say that…and I can wiggle my ear. Those are a few big, hold-the-presses news items.

Deanna:  What happened that made you want to become a writer?

Michele: I had a friend who was very creative, and I admired him for that. He started passing me pop Fantasy books, and it wasn’t long before I started thinking, I want to try that… First thing I wrote was a 9-book series. Unsalable, but fun. I learned how to write with that project.. I still love the story. I used that friend as a model for Jack. My creative friend was quite the successful woman wrangler, still is, so I gave Jack all of his slick moves. My friend plus danger plus homicide equals Jack.  Of course, no one can pull off a zebra-striped toga with combat boots like my friend can. He taught me how sexy combat boots could be. He’s in Taiwan right now, teaching kids English. I wonder what he’d think if he read this. He doesn’t know he’s Jack. If I told him, he’d just get a big head. :-)

Deanna:  Do you write under a pen name?

Michele: I did go by a pen name when I first started publishing. I’d taken the name of the first heroine I wrote, Crystal Drake. But it became confusing. I’m glad to be using my real name.

Deanna:  Is there a certain type of character that is easier to write than another?

Michele: It’s easy and fun for me to write the egotistic hero. That guy just flows onto my keyboard. He is definitely fun to write.

Deanna:  Do you read in the same genre that you write in?

Michele: I read some Fantasy, some Sci-Fi, and some Romantic Suspense. I like the unordinary, but I’ve written those too, so I guess I don’t read much out of my genre. I read a lot of science.

Deanna:  Where can our readers get more information on your books and website?

Michele:  Here is a blurb on the book and my links!

Blurb for Luminous Nights

Cop or convict?
How many faces can one man own?

An assassin wearing a holographic mask and a prison tattoo boards Rachel’s freighter during a prison riot, intent on collecting gadgets capable of changing a man’s identity from the black-market gang who'd stolen them. She’s never sure of Jack's identity nor his goal, but he claims to be an Alliance I-Marshal. Cop or convict? The clues never stop contradicting. Rachel's horrified to find the bright holographic mask conceals the gruesome face of a monster. And the badge doesn’t slow him from murdering people right before her eyes.
When Rachel learns Jack will trade innocent lives for the digital miracles, she determines to make the mercenary grow a heart.  How could a stone-cold killer kiss her so hotly? How could she kiss such a dangerous deceiver?
Jack has done years in prison to learn who’d stolen the remaining Gemini ticks, 3-D magic. Nothing will keep him from gaining extreme-technology capable of unleashing galaxy-wide chaos. Forget feelings for Rachel. She can’t stop him from killing everyone involved.
